Fancy Foot Work Instead of a 21st Century Life

To my surprise - I went and got tickets to the Roxy on Sunset to catch Sam Sparro. Unfortunately either I was late, or he just didn't perform long story short - no Sam Sparro. But to my surprise, I had no idea that the Roxy was actually hosting Chromeo's after party.

I won't front: I really really wanted to see Sam Sparro - I mean that's what I paid $17 to do. I wanted to bathe in the glory of a "21st Century Life" or just maybe dance around to some "Black and Gold" or if above all other things - listen to his rendition of "American Boy".
To my chagrin - let's just say thank goodness I was rewarded with my patience and caught Chromeo instead? It was an amazing set - it was so much fun. I mean he's just kind of a live DJ, not that much actual skill required? But I will just have to say it was a worth while experience. The first half hour was incredible - he was just pulling everything together and it was masterful. I enjoyed it to the upmost - until he paused and said:

"Are we in Los Angeles? Ok - just checking." And, yes of course there was some "Fancy Footwork" Then enter all that West Coast old school rap section - by then I had lost all energy. I was in the very first row- thank goodness. All I had to hug was the lip of the stage and someone behind me. Made for a very good concert experience - just me and Chromeo. It was an evening I will never forget. I think finally I can say that I'm starting to like Los Angeles. I just have to do the same things in New York - concerts! - and I will always feel at home at which ever city traverses my path in life.
